Staffordshire Hoard Open Day – 17th November at Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery

We are offering a number of public tours into the Conservation studios. You will hear about the latest conservation, research and findings relating to the Staffordshire Hoard. There are three tours during the day and tickets cost £30 each.
Tours take place at 10.30, 12.30 and 2.30 and we can accommodate 10 visitors on each tour. You will be escorted to the Conservation studios where there will be a short presentation on the latest work carried out on the Hoard.
You will then be able to view pieces of the Hoard under powerful microscopes in the company of expert conservators.
During the visit to the Studios there will be the opportunity to meet Medieval Metalworker and Contemporary Jeweller Jamie Hall who will demonstrate the kinds of techniques that may have been used in making the Hoard.
